✦ THE BIGGER PICTURE
02 / Why this matters
A good engineering project is not just something that works once. It needs a clear statement of the problem, evidence about performance and a realistic understanding of cost, maintenance and the people affected.
Question to explore: Pick a household or community problem. Define success in measurable terms, then draw the simplest prototype that could test your proposed solution.
✓ TRY THIS
03 / Your next step
- Compare two different solutions to one problem rather than choosing the first idea.
- Create a table of constraints, costs and user needs.
- Invite someone outside your field to question your design assumptions.
Information can change; check official program requirements or event updates before making plans.
