UT San Antonio lists the following important dates for students preparing to enter college in fall 2027:

  • October 1, 2026: UT San Antonio’s General Scholarship Application opened.

AlamoPROMISE: a local pathway to college

AlamoPROMISE can cover tuition and required fees at one of the five Alamo Colleges for eligible recent high-school graduates who live in or graduate from Bexar County, provided program requirements are met. Students must apply for college admission and complete the FAFSA or TASFA as appropriate.

Alamo Colleges identifies February 28 as its application priority date. Since deadlines and requirements can change by entering cohort, students planning to graduate in 2027 should confirm the applicable year and requirements directly with the program.

FAFSA is an important part of the plan

The 2027–28 FAFSA is currently available. Even students who expect to seek merit scholarships should understand whether submitting the FAFSA will open additional financial-aid options at their chosen schools. Different colleges may have different priority deadlines.

Start at the official Federal Student Aid website, and consult the financial-aid offices of each college on your list.

Three steps you can take this week

  • Make a calendar of each college’s scholarship and financial-aid deadlines.
  • Ask whether scholarships require an additional application after admission.
  • Review AlamoPROMISE and other local programs to understand the full range of options.
