01 / Expanding Internship Pathways for San Antonio Youth
On March 10, District 5 Councilmember Teri Castillo requested consideration of an Opportunity Youth Internship Program. 02 / Why this matters
An internship can connect young people to pay, mentors and career exposure. Eligibility rules determine whether those benefits reach people who need a first foothold. The proposal offers a concrete example of how program design shapes access.
Question to explore: Imagine a youth internship program open to participants with different schooling and work backgrounds. What preparation, compensation and mentoring should it offer?
